PC AND IC
When I was first introduced to PC,way back in 1986, it was Personal Computer and IC were Integrated Circuits, important component of PC. Today PC is available in many Avtars - desk top, lap top, palm top, so on and so forth. But you pick up any magazine, you will realize your mistake and agree that PC is really Priyanka Chopra, the famous and gorgeous Bollywood heartthrob.
On the other hand, pick up any newspaper of yesterday, today or tomorrow, or the day before or the day after, you will realize that PC is none other than our beloved HM and former FM - P Chidambaram, sometimes fondly called Chiddu. But IC ? "I see" is not his Taqia Kalam (Pet phrase). He simply likes Ice Cream like most of us, specially the diabetics like me. The other day PC very rightly observed that the urban middle class buys ice cream for Rs. 20/= and drinking water for Rs. 15/= and complains for Manhgai - Inflation (of prices instead of tyres). Poor PC does not realize that today the health conscious urban population is being forced to buy drinking water like rural population in certain areas in dry season. Few decades back the urban water supply was considered and was quite potable and harmless and there was no need for Bottled Drinking Water. With entry of Bislery and other such brands, the quality of our tap water went down and down and down and down. It is difficult to say - which one is the cause and which is effect. The poor quality of tap water is the cause of wind fall for Bottled Drinking Water industry or this industry is the cause of down fall of tap water quality.
The public out cry is always symbolic. Today the common public has become highly diplomatic if not politic. When there is out cry for Manhgai or inflation - in fact it is for poor governance. When it is for Black Money - it is for poor governance.When it is for Scams like 2G, CWG, Coalgate etc. etc. - it is again for poor governance. I fail to understand - why people want Ram Rajya in India. It is a purely an imaginary concept. But people are most obedient followers of Rashtra Pita (Father of Nation) Mahatma Gandhi. He wanted Ram Rajya in the country and so it must be - by any means, including by hooks or by crooks, but they must be intelligent. Intelligent Crooks - IC again ? Poor Chap - PC.
